Seeds are an excellent source of healthy fats and protein and are said to help lower the bad cholesterol in our blood and to help prevent heart disease & diabetes. They have a little lower calorie content than nuts making them slightly healthier but they remain a high calorie food so they are to be consumed with moderation! These bars make a great snack and provide a nice energy kick to get you through the afternoon. They are also quite filling so make the portions small! I generally make a big batch and then freeze some in individual portions to have later.

Cooking Time

1 hour in the freezer


Stick the banana, the coconut oil, the tahini, cinnamon & a pinch of salt in a blender. Process until you have a paste. Add in the pumpkin seeds, the sunflower seeds, chia seeds & sesame seeds. Pulse for another minute. Grease an oven tray with coconut oil and spread the paste evenly. Stick the tray in the freezer for 1 hour. Remove the tray and cut the paste into individual portions and keep them in the fridge or freezer.
